CUSTOMER SERVICE & BEGINNING OF SHIFT PROCEDURE
River City Revival House
Always listen to your Lead. If they have positioned you in Revival you are expected to stay in Revival. Do not go on breaks without asking your Lead and having someone watch your post.
Get to know our patrons, we are a pub based on regulars, and regulars love to see a friendly face.
Be sure to know who you’re letting in and where they’re coming from.
Trust your instinct, sometimes choosing not to let someone in will cause less damage at the front door rather than downstairs after they have had a couple.
If there is one security on, he/she is to STAND not sit upstairs. That way he/she can watch the outside and know if we have any potential issues with our neighbours. He or she is available to ID customers, he or she is available to help the bar if needed and he or she doesn’t look like he or she is about to fall asleep.
When there are 2 security members on one is to stand out front and the other is to be inside watching the back door.
Unless it’s an emergency only one doorman should be out front, so if you need to use the washroom be sure to ask the MOD for relief. On show nights nothing is more disappointing than seeing all of our security out front, so please, if there is more than one scheduled please go to your station.
Arrive early to find out any specials. If there is a show you should attend pre-shift with the Starlite Room Security. Know what colour wristbands are for patrons and which colour wristbands or laminates for band members. Be sure to let all your co-workers know. Gather all necessary tools needed during your shift (vest, radio, etc.).
Greet your guests. Introduce yourself.
Educate your customer about the daily specials and any promotions happening that day.
Routinely keep an eye open for empty glasses and hazards’.
Clear any dirty dishes or glassware immediately, put glassware in the glass washer, put the dishes in the bus bins, scrapped and stacked neatly.
Present the patrons or street traffic with any relevant promo materials on their way out the door.
Always say goodbye, and smile.
Keep an accurate count of the room continually, inform the MOD, and always tell your MOD when we hit capacity.
